Obama Understands Al-Qaida in Iraq

It is high time that the mainstream media and the political hierarchy distinguish between the Al-Qaida that existed before Bush invaded Iraq, (in Afghanistan, we were told, as a pretext for invading that country) and the Orwellian twisting of the term and the invention of the moniker “Al-Qaida in Iraq” by the American military.

This is the product of “churnalism.” The military does not allow independent journalism in Iraq, so the “news” out of Iraq is nothing more than network employees rewording press releases handed down by the military. It is pure spin; indeed, military marketing. Have you ever read or heard an official report of any American misstep during this illegal invasion and occupation? The “news” out of Iraq is nothing more than partisan ad copy continually twisted to suit the growth agenda of the military.

When Obama said something about “if Al-Qaida was to develop a base in Iraq” he innocently used the term as referring to Osama Bin Laden’s group that is reportedly now taking refuge in Pakistan. He has stated that he would consider a military strike inside Pakistan to get at Bin Laden and Al-Qaida — the real Al-Qaida that claims responsibility for bombing the World Trade Center. So he is now saying that he would do the same inside Iraq if the real Al-Qaida was to develop a base there, which they have not, unless Bin Laden can be in Pakistan and Iraq simultaneously.

Bin Laden branded Saddam Hussein an “infidel.” It is no secret that the U.S. propped up Hussein’s regime because his secular political ideology was at odds with radical Islam. There is no real Al-Qaida connection in Iraq (unless it has been concocted by the CIA). Obama understands this and is proceeding with real knowledge about the real world, whether we agree with his conclusions or not.

McCain, on the other hand, is handing us the Orwellian crock of shit by placing “Al-Qaida in Iraq” and expecting it to flush so that the military gravy train, and the expanded executive powers that accompany “wartime,” can keep rolling, literally, forever.

McCain thinks that we are still buying into the fear-based, lie based, Zionist conceived Bush doctrine, and he is quite unashamedly staking his political life on it. All I can say to that is, R.I.P. .
